Richard H. Mackinder age 82 passed away on Saturday November 27 2010 and is now at peace. Richard served his country with a career in the United States Air Force serving in Greenland Brazil Panama Japan Vietnam Thailand California Oklahoma Ohio and retired from Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. Upon retiring from the Air Force Richard worked for Michigan Bell and Selfridge Air Force Base as a civilian. He enjoyed flying and had his private pilot's license and enjoyed gliding as well. The grandkids loved to fly with grandpa. He is survived by his children Noreen (Bob) Griswold and Lee (Mary Ellen) Mackinder; nine grandchildren nine great-grandchildren; two sisters Nancy (Warren) White Sharon (Dean) Mardis; brother Merrill (Jeri) Mackinder. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Norma son Dean Mackinder and daughter Holly West-Dairy three siblings Donald Gerry and Patricia. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 18 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 340 N. Main Street Clawson MI.
