James Wellington Hayman age 82 of Berkley passed away Saturday February 12 2011 at home. He was born July 13 1928 in Roseville to James and Emily Hayman. After spending his youth in Roseville Mr. Hayman joined the Merchant Marines then the U.S. Army. He served our country proud during the Korean Conflict serving three tours of duty. Following the military he worked for Ben P. Fyke as a machine operator retiring at the age of 55. He loved to hunt and fish loved his Detroit sports teams especially the Tigers and Red Wings. In his retirement James enjoyed putzing around the house being a Mr. Fix-it and loved flowers. Most of all he loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Beatrice whom he married November 29 1958 in Southfield; his children Steve Yombik of Holly Lynn Kolakowski of Berkley and Bob Hayman of Germany; grandchildren Jennifer Steven Katie Kim Mike Beatrice Bobby Ray and Cathleen; and great grandchildren Lucas and Breanna. The family will receive friends Sunday 3-8 p.m. at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home 2125 12 Mile Road (2 blocks W of Woodward) Berkley.
