Joseph L. "Joe" Alderson age 84 of Ocala Fla. passed away on Monday November 22 2010. He was born in Murray Ky. on July 23 1926. He lived in Murray until joining the United States Army where he served during World War II. After his military service he moved to Detroit Mich. where he worked for Chrysler Corporation for 41 years. Joe was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 1592 of Madison Heights Mich. His hobbies included camping and volunteering for the pancake breakfasts at Palm Cay Retirement Community where he and his wife lived for 19 years. Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years Lessie Alderson; son Mark (Debbie) Alderson of Mansfield Texas; daughter Tina Miller of Trenton Mich.; son Jeffrey Alderson of Warren Mich.; brother Thomas Alderson of Naples Fla.; sister Anita Marine of The Villages Fla.; five grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Private cremation services are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Ocala Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation 1236 Ginger Crescent Virginia Beach VA. 23453 in memory of Joe.
