Richard E. Ellison age 85 a lifelong resident of Royal Oak died November 4 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born May 13 1925 in Royal Oak. Mr. Ellison was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ellison; children Mark (Claudia) Ellison Timothy (Karen) Ellison Anne (George) Kopy Paul (Cathy) Ellison and Jean (Tom) Barrett; sisters Alice Schulte and Peggy Cowdin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Peter Ellison. Visitation will be today 12-8 p.m. with a 3 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 705 W. Eleven Mile Road (4 blks. E of Woodward) Royal Oak. Mr. Ellison will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak.
