Cody, Quinnie E., December 22, 2014. Mr. Quinnie E. Cody, age 93, of Mount Clemens, passed away Monday evening at his home. He was born on November 22, 1921 in Shivers, Mississippi, a son of the late Oliver and Balma (Toland) Cody. On June 29, 1945, Quinnie was united in marriage with Thelma Rita Greiner. She passed away on Friday, January 4, 1991 in Mount Clemens. Later he married Jeannette Ladd (Nee) Coppage in Mount Clemens, on June 4, 1999. Quinnie was the former Mayor of Mount Clemens for 14 years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens where he served as an usher for 59 years, a member of The Old Crowd, and of the American Legion Post 4. Mr. Cody was also a U.S. Airforce veteran from WWII. Mr. Cody is survived by his wife, Jeannette; four children, Mary Christie, Therese (John Madden), John (Susan) Cody, and Paul (Kimberly) Cody; stepchildren, Sandra (Michael) Patrick, Tara Ladd, and Lana (Jason) Schmolitz; twenty grandchildren; and great-grandchild, Theo; and brother Cleveford Cody and sister Jean Williams. Mr. Cody was predeceased by his children Jane Larson and Joseph Cody. Visitation will be on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. (instate 10:30 a.m.) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Father Michael N. Cooney officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Clinton Township.
