Wake, John; age 89; of Rochester Hills; passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014. John was born in Highland Park, MI on February 21, 1925, son of the late Lewis and the late Mary Alice (nee Pratt) Wake. John was a graduate of Royal Oak High School class of 1942. He then went on to join the Air Force as an Air Force Cadet. He received his wings and 2nd Lieutenant Bars in 1943 as a navigator and later that year he also received his bombardier wings. John married Shirley in 1948 just after he graduated from the University of Michigan. John and Shirley (nee Prance) had three children, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Bell, John Alvin (Carolyn) Wake, and Thomas Scott (Jessica) Wake; grandfather of Amy (Scott) Fetter, Scott (Meg) Bell, Jonathon Wake, and Justin Wake; great grandfather of Jack Fetter. In lieu of flowers memorial donations suggested to Seasons Hospice, 27355 John R Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
