Preuss Adolf Max (Mr. Adolf); of Frankfort; passed away on November 25, 2014; at age 75. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Ja Kiltsch; and father, Adolf Otto Preuss both from Detroit. Adolf M. was born at Deaconess Hospital in Detroit, December 9, 1938. His family resided in Detroit until their move to St. Clair Shores. Adolf graduated from Lake View, class of 1957. He worked alongside his parents in the family business “Preuss Sausage Company” during his teen years. After high school graduation he served in the United States Army as a medic during peace time in Korea (1960 to 1962). After his army discharge he attended Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology. While attending Central he met and married Michele Brandow in 1965. He worked in mental health as a counselor until 1999 when he retired to Northern Michigan to farm and fish. He is survived by his wife, Michele; sister, Joann Taylor of St. Clair Shores; nephews, Otto and Stuart Taylor of St. Clair Shores; cousin, Dr. Ernie Schukraft of Bad Axe, MI and Key Largo, FL. Adolf was generous, humorous, quick-witted, direct and often served as a moral compass to those with whom he engaged. He will be missed by those who knew and appreciated his qualities. It was a privilege to have shared a life with him. A Memorial Service will be arranged at a later date.
