Monroe, James L., age 58, of Troy, Mich., passed away suddenly on January 6, 2015 of a heart attack. He was born June 30, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence ‘Larry’ and Shirley Monroe. Jim held a wide range of other jobs throughout his life, including retail manager, and production and control supervisor. His most recent job as a quality assurance specialist with Toyota kept him traveling across the region. Jim is survived by his mother, Shirley Dornton; stepmother, Paula Monroe; brothers, Matt (Angela), Tim, Mark (Joy) Monroe, John Dornton; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his former wife, Kim and step-daughter, Jamie. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Larry; grandparents, Louis and Sarah; stepfather, Calvin, Sr. Dornton; brothers, Calvin Jr. and Todd Dornton; and niece, Sarah Monroe. Family and friends may visit the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 5-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Toledo Humane Society, 1320 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
