Video Memory Play Video Medlen, Mary Ethel (nee Bingham); age 93; of Waterford; passed away January 12, 2015, with family members by her side. She was born to the late Samuel and Florence Lillie Bingham (nee Hallett) on October 13, 1921, in Birmingham, MI. Mary was the oldest of six children, Donald (Helen) Bingham, Richard Bingham, Frederic (Karen) Bingham, the late Betty (the late Norman) Gebert and the late Dorothy (the late William) MacDermaid. She married the late Russell Coleman in 1942, the late Frank Schweim in 1954, and the late William Medlen in 1979. Mary graduated from Northville High School in 1939 and was a dedicated employee of Michigan Bell for nearly 38 years. Her hobbies included bowling, golf and sewing. She was a faithful and involved member of Commerce United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She died in hospice care at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital after a brief battle with Multiple Myeloma. Mary is survived by her daughter, Gail Hubacker (nee Coleman) of Cape Cod, MA, by her grandsons Richard (Tanja) Hubacker of Bethesda, MD, and Neil (Kelsey) Hubacker of S. Hamilton, MA, her five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd., White Lake. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (In State 10:00 a.m.) at Commerce United Methodist Church, 1155 North Commerce Rd., Commerce Township. Burial at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi.
