Maynard, Mark E., age 65, passed away on January 14, 2015 with his wife at his side. He was born on May 17, 1949 in Mount Clemens; son of the late Donald Shirley Maynard. Mark was a proud Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for bravery and valor. He was wounded while trying to save his squadron from enemy mortar, rocket-propelled grenade and automatic weapons fire. He will always be remembered for his generous, selfless nature and his willingness to always help others. Mark enjoyed training horses for harness racing and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Paula. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
