Lockhart, Larry D.; age 73; of Attica, formerly of Pontiac and Pickford; went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Larry was born February 26, 1941 in Pontiac to Glenn and Jean (Puckett) Lockhart. He graduated from Avondale High School and than married Betty Woodruff on December 8, 1961. Larry began shoeing horses in the 1960’s, besides his family, it was his passion. He enjoyed the challenge of Standardbreds, but shod all breeds in his long career. He was a lifetime member of the Michigan Horseshoers Association, Lapeer Sportsman Club and the First Baptist Church in Lapeer. Even though his anvil is silent, he will be fondly remembered by many. Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years: Betty; children: Debbie (Tim) Seratti of Waterford, Gerald Lockhart of Pickford and Michael Lockhart of Lapeer; grandsons: Leif Fuller of Lansing and Ryan Fuller of Auburn Hills; sister: Brenda (Jim) Pote of Attica; mother-in-law: Mildred Provoast of Lapeer; brother-in-law: Gregory Lutz of Oxford; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and clients. Mr. Lockhart was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Glenda Lutz; father-in-law: Laverne Woodruff; sister-in-law: June Thompson; nephews: Steven Thompson and Jeffery Birkenhauer, Jr. Visitation and Funeral Services has taken place, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Burial in Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
