Gusmano, Philip J., age 85, of St. Clair Shores, passed away January 24. God saw him getting tired, so he embraced him in his arms and called him home. Philip was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. After the war, returned home and ran the Woods Cocktail Lounge. He later sold the lounge and went to work at General Dynamics, he retired in 1990. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Clare (nee Cristofori); children, Christopher (Frances), Julie (Dominic Gabriel) and Lee Ann (Mark Szymanski); grandchildren, Kyle, Renata Maria, Marina and Mark Jr.; brother, James (Cathy); sister, Rosemary (James Rand); aunt, Mary Rini; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Lena (nee Rini) and brother, John. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 30, at 10 a.m. with a family visitation at 9:30 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 Jefferson Avenue, Saint Clair Shores.
